Bournemouth – The perfect Stag Party Location

09 March 2018

Organising a stag weekend is a fun but occasionally daunting prospect, after all you are celebrating your mate’s last weekend of freedom and the pressure is on to make it memorable. Take my advice and choose Bournemouth as the perfect summer stag party location.

The best location for any stag or hen party has to be Bournemouth so it is no surprise that according to the Bournemouth Echo on the 6th August 2016 there were more stag and hen parties happening in Bournemouth than there were in Ibiza on the coming weekend. This doesn’t sound possible, but the figures that they quote which come from the people behind are astounding, with an estimated 74 stag parties and 18 hen parties occurring. So what do all these groups know that we don’t?

It has 7 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, which have won four European Blue Flags, two Quality Coast Awards and a Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver Award and now has been listed as the 14th best beach in the world by TripAdvisor in their Travellers’ Choice Awards. The 2018 award is based on reviews left by visitors to the beaches and incredibly Bournemouth Beach is ranked higher than Sydney’s Manly Beach. So, if you fancy spending some time relaxing on a sun kissed beach, Bournemouth is the place to go.

Studland Beach in February, imagine what it is like in the Summer.

As a university town you’ll never be the only ones there and the students who have usually just finished exams/coursework help to create a party atmosphere.

In 2010 Bournemouth won a Purple Flag award which basically means it’s a great place to go out day or night. The Purple Flag award takes into account a variety of factors as explained by a spokesman for the scheme in a BBC article; "To win Purple Flag status towns and cities must be welcoming to everyone, offer safe ways for visitors to travel home, provide a good mix of venues and attractions and be appealing not just at night but during the day too.”

Stag and Hen party friendly clubs and bars are everywhere and rather than turning away large single sex groups they positively try to get you through the door with offers of a free first round not unusual. There is also plenty of accommodation at a reasonable price, I managed to find hotel rooms available for as little as £30 per person per night in early July (based on two sharing, without breakfast).

And then finally, the best reason to choose Bournemouth –you can come to visit us at the UK’s premier Off-road Driving and Shooting Centre!
